Not all e-books need to be perfect!
My worst-selling ebook took 4 months to write.
My best-selling ebook took 1 week to write.
I ditched perfectionism. I love experimenting. I still make mistakes sometimes. But that’s the whole part of the learning process.
I used to take months to create a perfect ebook.
Then the time reduced to ONE ebook in a month.
But then I realized that a perfect product doesn’t need to take that much time.
Apart from this. Perfectionism has led to procrastination, and I ama perfect example of that.
I have more than 30+ ebooks in my drive. Unedited. I really have no idea when I will be completing them.
In reality, I also have a last interest.
And I have better ideas that are in queue.
Here’s why starting imperfectly is actually the smartest move –
1. My perfectionism = Laziness!
Procrastination was my real enemy..
I didn’t launch early because I was trying to make it “PERFECT”.
In reality, Perfect doesn’t even exist!
TIP — Now I keep a deadline for my projects. Build. Launch. Remember you can always tweak later!
2. I learn faster by actually DOING
My first ebook was a total failure.
Lots of mistakes.
Marketing was ZERO — no email list.
Launch was a total flop.
But when I launched my 3rd ebook, things began to change.
Sales started coming in.
TIP — I now take feedback before the launch.
3. First product is just a learning part
From my first launch, I came to know how to —
- create
- package (cover, title, description, etc.)
- price
- launch
- promote (a lot of effort goes here)
TIP — I keep track of what works and what doesn’t.
4. Sometimes I relaunch
I did this with my first ebook.
-> I edited it again.
-> Put new cover.
-> And relaunched
I saw a HUGE difference in conversion rate.
It actually got better!
TIP — Keep tacking feedback. And improve wisely is the key.
5. Nobody is going to judge you if you fail
I was always anxious after every launch.
But after 10 years in this field, I know no one is actually watching as closely as I think.
Mistakes are okay.
Learn and improve.
Be honest about it.
People love that!
TIP — First product is always an experiment. So make it small and price it cheap.
Conclusion
No need to wait.
Just start.
Progress is WAY BETTER than perfection
Start working on your business every single day.
