My Pinterest Account Reached 300k Impressions in One Month

The best way to increase Medium traffic!

I have TWO Pinterest accounts.

Main Pinterest Account — 300K impressions per month

Second Pinterest Account (Side Hustle) — 70k impression per month (I often forget to upload pins)

They both are new and I rarely work on them!

I was never interested in Pinterest.

Even before Twitter, Reddit, and Medium, I tried Pinterest.

I created my account 6 years ago. For 5 years, my traffic never exceeded 23k per month.

Last month, it hit 300k impressions.

After 6 years, I now know the algorithm. Wish I knew it earlier.

This would have helped me a lot to increase traffic on Medium, YouTube, etc.

With this trial and error on my TWO interest accounts, I also did some experiments—one account for sending traffic to the Medium profile. At the same time, another one was sent directly to my offers and products. Sending traffic to a blog post or long-form content is the best way.

I’ll share some ways I used to increase traffic on my Pinterest account.

10 ways to get more organic traffic with Pinterest

  1. Beautiful pins actually work — Attractive pins actually work better. I try to give as much info as possible in every single pin. Color palette matters too. So make sure you use better color combinations here. I simply use Pre-designed Canva templates. Saves a lot of my precious time.
  2. Optimize keywords — Keywords matter. This is the real secret of how I reached 300k in a few weeks. Keywords in the title and even in the description. I’ll make another article on this soon. It’s going to be a little bit lengthy.
  3. Organize Pins with Boards — I am not sure if this helps the audience or not, but for the creator, it definitely does. Organizing your pins is a great way to understand what your audience is actually looking for. What type of niche or micro-niche is your audience searching for he most?
  4. Post Fresh Pins Consistently — I have realized one thing that my account grew because at the start of the year, I posted pins consistently. I don’t schedule much, note this. I upload fresh pins every other day.
  5. My secret weapon — Pinterest Analytics. I use this to find new micro-niches and also what’s a popular topic. I use this when I run out of ideas or topics for my pins.
  6. I use Pinterest Scheduler (Automate) — This is for my second account. Not easy to manage two accounts simultaneously. So I upload on the main account alternate days, while on another account, I schedule pins mostly on weekends.
  7. I focus on long-tail keywords a lot — It’s not easy to find short keywords. Long keywords are the best ones. Whether you are searching for a blog post, a YouTube title, or your pin title, long-tail keywords are the best way.
  8. I focus on creative pins — Better if I add more info on the pins. I see the audience loves it more.
  9. I don’t write tagged topics—I used to add as much as possible before. But this year I have stopped doing this. No need to worry about this section. I add keywords to the Pin title and description.
  10. Use trends occasionally — I mostly prefer green keywords and topics, but sometimes, when I see traffic declining, I do use trendy topics.

Why I find Pinterest best for Medium

  1. It’s completely, completely free!
  2. I get faster results compared to Google
  3. I consider this as extra traffic with less effort.
  4. I use apps to design my pins. Takes only 1–2 hours to design pins for the entire week!
  5. Once I figured out the Pinterest algorithm, I started sending traffic not only to my blog post but also to my YouTube videos.

FAQ —

How long does it take to get traffic from Pinterest?

I started my first Pinterest account in 2022. But reached my first 1M views in 2025. Why? Because I wasn’t using the right keywords and didn’t understand my audience’s needs. Creative pins matter the most. Dont worry too much about traffic. It will definitely follow.

How much traffic can you get from Pinterest?

Unlimited! But my focus has always been on less traffic and a better click rate.
